Structural steel fabrication

Fabrication capacity for complex projects

Fremantle Steel Group fabricates structural steel for infrastructure, defence, energy, oil and gas, commercial, industrial and resources projects throughout Australia. From bridges and rail facilities to process plants, piperacks and materials handling structures, the Jandakot workshop handles complex one-off assemblies and high-volume packages alike.

The site has 20,000 square metres of undercover workshop served by 34 overhead cranes, 30,000 square metres of laydown and pre-assembly area, 11 CNC processing machines and an annual capacity of 25,000 tonnes. Fabrication is certified to AS/NZS 5131 Construction Category CC3 and welding to AS/NZS ISO 3834 Part 2, with every component tracked by QR code from cut and drill through assembly, welding and NDT, surface treatment, dispatch and site delivery.

Recent packages include 1,251 tonnes of structural steelwork and platework for the Rio Tinto Yandi Sustaining Project, 917 tonnes for the Tianqi lithium hydroxide plant at Kwinana, and 883 tonnes detailed, fabricated, treated, delivered and installed for the PTA Railcar Facility at Bellevue.

The quality of the manufactured steel was excellent.
