Commercial

Delivering landmark developments

Commercial builders need a fabricator who understands programme pressure, stakeholder scrutiny and the cost of a late frame. Fremantle Steel Group works with builders and developers on offices, retail, health and education buildings, public venues and mixed-use developments, with welded beam capability for transfer structures and long spans.

Fabrication, transport and lifting are planned within the group, so the builder deals with one contractor from workshop to site.

Typical projects include:

  • Office developments
  • Retail centres
  • Health and education facilities
  • Community and civic buildings
  • Mixed-use developments
  • Stadiums and public venues
  • Places of worship
The work was adequately staffed and supervised and we look forward to the opportunity to work with Freo Steel on future projects. Mike Toohey Project Manager Scentre Design and Construction
FAQs

Common questions

What types of commercial construction projects does Fremantle Steel Group support?

Offices, shopping centres, hospitals, schools and universities, sports and entertainment venues, churches and mixed-use developments.

Can you fabricate steelwork for large-scale commercial developments?

Yes. Annual capacity is 25,000 tonnes, and laydown space allows large packages to be staged to the builder’s programme.

How early can Fremantle Steel Group become involved in a project?

At concept or tender stage. Early involvement lets us advise on section selection, including custom welded sections that can reduce weight, on transport and lift limits, on pre-assembly and trial fit-up, and on delivery sequencing, before those choices are fixed in the design. We price from preliminary drawings and refine as the design develops.

What quality standards apply to your commercial construction projects?

The same as for infrastructure: AS/NZS 5131 CC3 (including architecturally exposed steelwork), AS/NZS ISO 3834 Part 2 welding and ISO 9001:2015.

Can you coordinate fabrication and delivery to meet construction schedules?

Yes. Fabrication is sequenced to the builder’s programme and delivered in erection order by the group’s own fleet, with cranes to 160 tonnes for site lifts.

Do you have experience working with builders, developers and Tier 1 contractors?

Yes. Clients include national and Western Australian builders, alliance and joint-venture contractors, and EPCM firms.
